Communications Policy
Capital Law School SBA Communications Policy
The Capital Law School Student Bar Association (SBA) is happy to promote events or other important announcements for student organizations, Law School events, and important student deadlines. SBA shares all these items via a number of platforms such as through email, social media, or physical postings. All such distribution is at the discretion of the SBA Governing Board and Executive Board.
Please note the following guidelines when requesting the SBA share your information:
Events
Events must be submitted via the event reporting form no later the fourth Friday of the month and can be submitted here: https://www.caplawsba.com/events-and-announcements/event-reporting
Events submitted after the monthly deadline, may be shared digitally but there will no longer be any guarantees if the event is scheduled within one week of that monthly deadline (i.e. if you submit on Saturday January 28th that you have an event on Monday January 30th, your event likely won’t be posted/sent out)
Events submitted later than the monthly deadline, we will not be able to post them on our physical calendars.
Announcements: For announcements on important events please see the Friday Updates or go to https://www.caplawsba.com/events-and-announcements/announcements. If you would like to have an announcement posted to our Announcements page, please email us at sba@law.capital.edu.
Content
Graphics: Please provide all graphics you would like shared on social media. SBA will no longer create graphics for student organizations
Tip: you can sign up for a free www.canva.com account to create graphics
Language
For events, SBA will share the name of the student organization, the name of the event, and the date, time, and location as listed in the event reporting form
For other important announcements, please include a short blurb about the announcement (no more than three sentences) with important information such as the student organization and any deadlines
Political Organizations: SBA is a non-partisan organization. We will not share any events or information promoting political candidates or campaigns.
SBA Email
Please allow up to 48 hours for a response when emailing sba@law.capital.edu. As a reminder, Executive Board members who monitor the SBA Email Inbox are student volunteers who have full time course loads along with work and other responsibilities.
We recommend reaching out to your class representative first before emailing our organization email. Class representatives and their contact information can be found here https://www.caplawsba.com/governing-board/meet-the-board
When there is a large influx we may not be able to include all events and announcements in our weekly email. We will always include a link to the events calendar.
